Festive Rice Crispy Treats
Delicious and festive rice crispy treats that are simple to whip up during this holiday season

9x13 baking dish
- 1 stick butter
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- 12 oz rice crispy cereal (or 10 cups)
- ½ cup holiday baking chips plus more for garnish
In a dutch oven, melt a stick of butter on medium heat.
Once the butter is completely melted, add in the entire bag of mini marshmallows.
After the butter and mini marshmallows are completely liquified, remove from heat. Add the rice crispy cereal to the pot and stir. I typically try to leave the powdery cereal out of it, but if it doesn't bother you, go for it. If you get a larger box of cereal, I believe the measured amount of rice crispy cereal would be about 10 cups. Once you've stirred in the cereal until its gooey and you want to just eat it with a spoon out of the pot, add in the baking chips.Since the rice crispy treat mixture is still hot, these will melt a little bit. Butter a baking dish, then add in the rice crispy treats to the dish. I typically sprinkle a little extra baking chips on top just because they're cute and festive.
Cool until set, about 20 minutes. I typically can't wait too long, so I feel 20 minutes is generous enough.
