In a food processor with a blade attachment, add dry milk, sugar, cocoa powder and salt. Blend until mixed together and becomes powdery like the stuff from the store. This step is important if you want to make sure your mix doesn’t become lumpy or grainy when you add the hot water.I blended my hot chocolate mix for about 3 minutes.
Add your hot chocolate mix to a glass container that has a lid.
Add 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips to the hot chocolate mix and whisk it in.
Store your homemade hot chocolate mix in a glass jar with a tight lid and a 1/4 cup measure as your scoop. This will store for about a year if your family doesn't make all the hot chocolate before hand!
Homemade Hot Chocolate
In a large mug, add 1/4 cup of homemade hot chocolate mix, then pour in hot water.
Stir to combine. Make sure you’re scraping the bottom of your mug for the melted chocolate chip pieces.
Once everything is combined, add your favorite toppings.
Serve with love!

Variations:This recipe is very versatile.

You don’t have to add chocolate chips at all, but be sure to add 1/4 cup of additional sugar to make up for it.
You can absolutely substitute the water for hot milk.
